Phase 2 covid vaccinations (under 50s)

Published 19/04/2021

We are delighted to share that we have now started booking patients aged 45-49 for their 1st covid vaccinations at Brough Surgery. As before, we are contacting patients in descending age order and kindly ask that you do not contact us to book - we will contact you when it is time for you to be vaccinated.

The phase 2 cohorts are: Cohort 10 - all those aged 40 to 49 years Cohort 11 - all those aged 30 to 39 years Cohort 12 - all those aged 18 to 29 years

At present, we are not expecting any further Pfizer 1st doses and will only be able to offer patients the Astra Zeneca (Oxford) vaccines. JCVI guidance advises that patients over the age of 30 with no major and significant blood clotting history should be offered the Astra Zeneca vaccine for both their 1st and 2nd dose.

It is recommended that patients under 30 receive the Astra Zeneca vaccine as a 2nd dose if they have already had a 1st dose with no major and significant blood clotting issues. Patients aged under 30 who have not received a 1st dose are advised to get a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine if supplies are available. We are unable to supply these alternatives so would encourage any patients now eligible (from cohorts 1-9) who are under 30 to contact the national booking centre on 119.

Thank you to all of our patients at Brough, South Cave, Holme on Spalding Moor and Bubwith for your patience, resilience and support whilst we deliver this service.
